Naming service configuration

Dear all,

I am a newcomer to CORBA technology and I am trying to set up omniORB2 on
my PC.
Unfortunately, I came across some problems concerning the configuration of
the naming service.
I have already set up omniORB2 through the setup.exe utitlity for Win32.
My question is the following one:
when starting omniNames for the very first time using the command 
 omniNames -start <port>
what is the meaning of port if we are trying to set up omniORB2 on a PC
running Win95?
