omniORB2 on Red Hat 5 with kernel 2.0.33

I installed the precompiled binaries of omniORB2 2.4.2 (linux 2.0, i586)
in Red Hat 5 but omniNames aborts with a segmentation fault error.
omniidl has no problems.
gcc is version 2.7.3

Is there a solution?
