FWIW, I'm using egcs_1_0_2_980309_prerelease on Linux Redhat 5.0, with
binutils 2.8.1.0.23 and glibc 2.0.5c-10 with omniORB 2.5.0. So far, I haven't
had any problems. In fact, some of the problems that I had with omniORB 2.4.0
have cleared up.
Unfortunately, the current state of the egcs development requires that
several other packages be upgraded when you install a new egcs snapshot. If
you fail to do that (especially with binutils), the egcs FAQ suggests that
you _will_ encounter problems with exception handling. And personally, I
wouldn't even bother with anything before egcs_ss_980221, since I had
problems using omniORB with all the all the earlier versions of egcs,
including egcs_1_0_1_release.
I haven't tried the new egcs_1_0_2_release yet. Perhaps I'll get a chance
this weekend.
