In that case, you don't need thread support from your C++ compiler.

The omniidl front-end and Python back-end interface are under GPL.
However, we do not consider back-ends to be derived works of the
compiler, so you may distribute back-ends you write under any
conditions you like.
Similarly, we do not impose any restrictions on the output of the
(GPL) back-ends we distribute.
I shall add statements to this effect to the omniidl distribution.
