[omniORB] compiling omniORB using gcc 2.8.1 in solaris 2.6

hello.

i'm trying to compile the omniORB source ("make export") using gcc 2.8.1 in
solaris 2.6 but i keep getting unresolved externals error when linking
omniNames...here is the snapshot of the error message:

...and a bunch of other unresolved externals here ...

i did make revisions on the makefile like changing "CC -G" to
"$(CXX) -shared" ....but to no avail...

did i miss something here?  any help would be appreciated....thanks!!!!
