Rob,

If you checked Sai's message earlier, he referred to a patch that I provided
last week to this mailing list.  It is available in the archives
of this mailing list at: 
http://www.uk.research.att.com/omniORB/archives/1999-09/0148.html

This patch solves the problem you mentioned, and others under AIX.
