[omniORB] Which version of GIOP/IIOP does omniORB implement

Can anybody tell me which version of GIOP/IIOP omniORB uses?

Does omniORB use the recent version that allows GIOP messages to be sent
in smaller pieces? 
If yes, does this mean that the size of the single GIOP message does not
need to be calculated and that the marshaling/demarshling can take place
parallel to sending of already marshaled parameters??
