[omniORB] Blocking connects()

Is there some way of timing out the attempts to establish a connection during a
method invocation? Our application can block for 30-70 seconds if the remote
system is unavailable (network connection unplugged for example). The call
timeout parameters are pointless if there is no way of limiting the complete
invocation time (connection setup, invocation, reply).

This is with 2.8.0 BTW.
