  Actually, there are techniques for using VC++ generated .LIB files with
GCC on Windows (read the Cygwin FAQ for details).  But it's a hell of a pain
in the butt and I really would rather not go through it. <smile>  And who
knows if it would still work, even...

  This would be the ideal situation, of course.  I don't know if I'm a
capable enough developer to do the port myself, but I'd really love to have
it.  Everything ELSE I've tried to compile on Cygwin has worked wonderfully
(most of it used autoconf, though ;).
