[omniORB] Threading (Should I do myself)

Greetings all,

	I am writing a toy application ( ping ). I am running into the following :

After pinging, ie. ping( server_name ), I need to wait until TIMEOUT before 
saying that the server is 'dead'. However, I cannot go into a busy waiting 
loop --which uses resources--. The solution : thread --as far as I know--

But, shoud I take care of the threads myself or is there 'something' within 
CORBA that does that for me ?
