Hello,
I am presently trying to port an omniORB-based server program developed
on Linux to NT. I am using Cygwin, and ideally would like to use the gnu
compiler. I am aware that if I do, I must also compile omniORB under
Cygwin with the gnu compiler, rather than using the omniORB binaries
compiled with the Microsoft VC++ compiler, on account of different
name-mangling conventions and other incompatibiliies.
My question is this: Has anyone attempted to compile omniORB using the
gnu compiler under Cygwin? I believe omniORB may use some parts of the
STL not yet included in Cygwin (apologies to Cygwin if I am mistaken in
this) and am wondering what I'm up against. My preference for gnu over
VC++ is not (merely) doctrinal -I am in for some considerable changes if
I try to do the port entirely with the Microsoft compiler.
Thanks very much for any help,
Robert Kermode
