[omniORB] Event and Notification Services

In a nutshell, they both provide a publish/subscribe model for use by CORBA
objects. The Event service preceeded the Notification service
chronologically; the latter supports enhanced features such as event
persistence, etc. Both are defined by OMG Specs. (see www.omg.org) that give
their IDL interfaces and explanations (not light reading, however).
There are implementations of both that are built on top of omniORB. You can
find links to them off of the omniORB web pages, but to save you time:
