To whose NamingService are you attempting to connect? What version of
VisiBroker are you using?

If you are trying to use the 3.x VisiBroker NamingService with omniORB or
the Sun ORB, you will not be able to connect to it by resolving initial
references. The VisiBroker 3.x ORB uses its proprietary Smart Agent to get
an initial reference to the Naming Service.

I use: jdk 1.3, tnameserv, jacorb, visibroker.
