[omniORB] How to minimize the timeout on a connection broken ?

I use omniORB 3.0.4 on a Linux 586 Platform for a scientific project.
I have a server Corba which interrogates periodically several clients, and get back datas of measures.
If I kill the client's process, my server notices it and manages the situation almost immediately.
On the other hand, if the computer, on which the clients is running, falls or if the connection is broken, the timeout is far too much long to face with the constraints of time, I have.
I hope you could help me.
