Hi Bruno,

  The InitRef NameService=corbaloc::host.domain:port/NameService
is simply the standard way of telling clients of the nameservice,
how to reach it. It is pretty much equivalent to using the
InitialHost etc options except, that the InitRef style is not
a proprietary extension by sun.
  If you want to have java clients use omniNames, you may have to
restrict omniORB4 to use only giop 1.0, since the jdk 1.3.1 orb
chokes on giop 1.2.
