[omniORB] Solaris 8 & omniORB4.0.0 installation problem

You should not touch config.mk if you are using autoconf build.
So if in omniorb top of omniorb tree, the following should work:

mkdir build
cd build
../configure 

Which version of gcc are you using, are you sure that is built correctly?
What does "g++ -v" say?
