[omniORB] SSL and corbaloc status

Hello.

I have be reworking an application for use with SSL. The application
used corbaloc to resolve a reference to an object factory with a
hostname based URI. omniORB 4.0.1 corbaloc apparently only supports
the 'iiop' protocol. A review of the mailing list showed:

1) A consensus amongst open source ORB authors was reached to allow
for an 'ssliop' protocol type in the URI.

2) Someone posted a patch to the omniORB mailing list which provided
support for an 'ssliop' protocol type, but it would also break the
'iiop' protocol type.

Any clues as to the status of an SSL-enabled corbaloc?
