[omniORB] Cross compiling omniORB. (embedded linux)

I'm having similar troubles to those described in this post,
http://www.omniorb-support.com/pipermail/omniorb-list/2004-July/025623.html

When I try to cross compile omniORB for arm-linux using:

# ../configure --host=arm-unknown-linux-gnu  

I get the error:

omniidl: Could not open IDL compiler module _omniidlmodule.so

It seems that this library is being compiled for the ARM board when I
want to run it on the host. Is this the case?  Does anyone know how to
compile omniiidl and omkdepend seperately from the omniORB libraries
as suggested by Alex Tingle in the last post?

Has anyone sucessfully compiled omniORB for arm or any other cross
compile situation?
