So are we, and we have been using 64 bit omniORB version 4.1 for
months now without incident.  Here is my full configure line, although
you probably need only the CC and CXX parts:

../configure CC='/opt/SUNWspro/bin/cc -xarch=v9' \
            CXX='/opt/SUNWspro/bin/CC -xarch=v9' \
            PYTHON=/opt/Python-2.4.2/bin/python \
            --prefix=/opt/omni-070119 --disable-static
