There are at least two ways to view this then.

Either that the standard is lacking something.

or

The designers of the standard explicitly wanted to ensure that the
particular transport system used never needed to be known by users of
the system.

In other words, what you are defining as a deficit in the standard is
actually one of the main design goals.

So, if you don't like the design goals of CORBA, use something else, but
don't start telling people it's lacking something when what you actually
mean is that you disagree with one of the underlying design decisions.

Now, I'm not going to tell you what my particular opinion on the subject
is, the above is true irrespective of how I feel about the CORBA standard.
