[omniORB] What advantages and disadvantages will have switch Omniorb build from GNU make to CMake?

I am wonder:
What advantages and disadvantages will have switch Omniorb build from GNU make to CMake?
I mean what advantages and disadvantages will arise when Omniorb will be build with CMake.
It will be more or less portable? More platforms Omniorb will support? (or maybe less)
Have you ever considered CMake as build system for Omniorb?
