While it is clear to me how to determine if I am using a debug vs. release
build of the omniORB dll's, how do I know if I am using omniORB dll's built
with static vs. dll versions of MSVC?

I'm using a 2.7.1 distribution which included binaries, and I have not had a
need (so far) to build the omniORB dll's myself.
