[omniORB] Q: VAX CXX taking 300,000+ pages to compile IRSTUB.CC normal?

I'm trying to compile Omniorb 2.8.0 with DEC C++v5.6-013 running on OpenVMS
VAX V6.2.

The CXX compiler is taking 300,000+ pages of page file while attempting to
compile IRSTUB.CC (in [src.lib.omniorb2.dynamic]).

Has anyone run across an error on DEC C++ which would account for it
sucking down huge amounts of memory?
