[omniORB] Compiling omniORB on WinNT with gcc

Before you try to compile omniORB using cygwin's gcc and I presume run with
cygwin's runtime DLL,
you have to check carefully whether the following is supported and in fact
works:
1. gcc, is this compiler configured and compiled to do thread-safe exception
2. Is cygwin's runtime support pthread? If so, is there any evident that it
actually works and supported.
omniORB is quite a complex piece of multithreaded program, it has higher
demands on the compiler and runtime than the usual single threaded unix
programs.
